Rio Richlin's From Front Lines Heroes and Superheroes

1. Audie Murphy
1. Audie Murphy is one of the greatest WWII war heroes. Like Rio, he was a soldier and a rancher. Unlike Rio, though, he also was an actor and songwriter. He received every combat award for valor available to the U.S. Army and received awards from France and Belgium too. He and Rio share a talent for war and a small stature. I think that Rio would count him as a hero because of all of his accomplishments and their similarities. The attribute of Audie's that Rio would want for herself would probably be his motivation or bravery (though Rio does have that herself, I think some more wouldn't hurt). 
2. Wonder Woman
1. Wonder Woman is a superhero who Rio would look up to greatly because she herself is a warrior - an Amazonian. Although Wonder Woman was a trained warrior from the get-go, unlike Rio, Rio would still look up to Wonder Woman for her courage, kindness, and combat skills. Both Rio and Wonder Woman are tall and strong, and I think that Rio could possibly identify with Wonder Woman. An attribute of Wonder Woman that Rio would probably want for herself would be her superpowers/Amazonian abilities or her whip. 
3. Susan Ann Cuddy
1. Susan Ann Cuddy fought in WWII and became the first Asain American woman to join the U.S. Navy. She then went on to become a Link Trainer - a person who teaches air combat to aviators. She also became the first female gunnery officer in the U.S. Navy and taught aviators how to shoot a .50-caliber machine gun. She retired as a lieutenant. This would be important to Rio because she herself is a strong, independent woman who is a great shot. An attribute of Susan that Rio would want for herself would be her conviction - Susan was first turned down by WAVES but reapplied and accomplished so many things.
